  • By phone: 1-800-772-1213. Free help filling it in: your State Health Insurance Assistance Program.
  • Have ready: your Medicare number, bank and investment balances, and income for you and a spouse living with you.

2026 limits: yearly income under $23,940 for one person or $32,460 for a married couple; resources under $18,090 or $36,100. Social Security leaves out the first $20 a month of income and about half of pay from work, so a little over can still qualify. Limits usually rise each year. Source: Medicare.gov.
